Rise n shine! This was our action packed day - got up around 5:30am in Nashville, TN, with a plan to visit the Unclaimed Baggage Center in Alabama for opening at 9:00am. We had a 1:00pm lunch/”dinner” appointment in Lynchburg, TN at Miss Mary Bobo’s Boarding House and then the ROUTE 127 SALE to hit for the rest of the day. Whoo boy.

We all gave Jumi a bit of complaining because according to Trip Advisor, the reviews of the UBC aren’t very good. Still, after reading about it last year AFTER our trip, we were intrigued enough (aka, she forced us, but we went willingly) to get up at 5:30 in the dang morning to drive 3+ hours to make it for 1 hour of shopping and still make it BACK to TN in time for our lunch appointment. Are you confused? So were we.

It was kind of like the Amazing Race - we didn’t want to make any mistakes and have to make up time later, so we left crazy early and ended up getting within a mile or two of the UBC with 30 minutes to spare. Sweet! So we found a Goodwill (one of many many) open at 8:30am with the SWEETEST trailer parked out front.

At 9:02 we booked it out of there and headed the mile or so to the Unclaimed Baggage Center. With their gigantic sign in the shape of a suitcase, you can’t miss it. Sadly enough, there’s another unclaimed baggage center right across the street, but with none of the fancy and all of the budget. Anyhow, the scores:

  • Guitar worth $400 bought for $150
  • Ipod worth $120 bought for $90
  • Straw hats to beat the heat and to draw more attention to 3 Asian girls in the South, $6 range

And back in the car to Lynchburg…
